This is my second journey as a gestational surrogate. For my first journey, I didn't blog at all. I was very open about my surrogacy journey, posting frequently on my private instagram and Facebook accounts, but nothing public. As I started this second journey, I was asked to blog for All Things Surrogacy. Our goal is to educate people about surrogacy in general, and also about carrying for an HIV+ couple. I'm excited about this journey, both the surrogacy and the writing, and am hopeful that reading about my experience will shed a positive light on surrogacy and the HIV/AIDS community.
I have added links to all of the websites referenced throughout the blog. I am not an expert--in IVF, surrogacy, or HIV--but I've done my best to provide accurate, updated, information. If you have additional resources to share, to clarifications on any information I've provided, please share.
Michelle is a thirty-something married mother of three. She teaches special education at an alternative high school in rural Southern Oregon. Her first surrogacy was for a same-sex couple from Israel. When she's not taking care of her own children or birthing them for someone else, she enjoys reading and writing and exploring Oregon.
